Products & Services
Our Products
RAYLASE develops advanced modular components and deflection units for the control of laser beam. Maintaining high product quality standards is a priority at RAYLASE.
2-Axis Deflection Units
The RAYLASE 2-axis deflection units can be used to deflect a laser beam in X and Y directions. This produces a two-dimensional area allowing a laser to be directed at any position. Deflection is performed by two mirrors, each of which is moved by a galvanometer scanner. The deflection unit has a beam input, into which the laser beam is fed, and a beam output, through which a laser beam is emitted from the unit after deflection.
Pre-Focusing Deflection Units
Pre-focusing deflection units are developed due to cost and size limitations on the output lens and the beam aperture limitations with 2-axis deflection units, which limit their ability to produce smaller spot sizes over medium size scanning fields. Pre-focusing deflection units meet customers application requirements for large processing fields with smaller spot sizes and allow the user to change the working distance, field and spot size with the same deflection unit. 3-axis technology also benefits application-on-the-fly with moving targets, while in 3D-applications, the setup enables processing of non-flat parts or uneven surfaces and high power products. These solutions are now available for Nd:YAG, diode, and CO2-lasers.
AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-30
The AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-30 is a highly integrated pre-focusing beam deflection unit for use in industrial production environments. Whether laser welding, cutting or cleaning, thanks to its dust-proof housing and integrated collimation optics, the AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-30 is the ideal deflection unit even under harsh production conditions.
The focus here is all on dynamics and productivity. Thanks to our highly dynamic z-axis with RAYVOLUTION DRIVE technology, the AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-30 can use the full dynamics of its XY scanners without losing the z-position of the focus. This makes the AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-30 ideal for processing very thin materials such as battery foils or bipolar plates for fuel cells. Here, a stable penetration depth and a uniform focus are particularly important in order to avoid damage to the bipolar plate and to obtain a uniform cutting result.
Thanks to its high power compatibility of up to 6kW, the AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-30 is well suited for welding battery housings or cell connectors of prismatic cells. Due to the large processing fields, the AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-30 also enables hairpin welding of electric motors without the need to move the motor or the deflection unit.
MINISCAN III
Your Benefits
The new MINISCAN III offers very stable digital control, which further improves noise and drift values, thereby making the system even more reliable and robust. Both the XY2-100 16 bit and the SL2-100 20 bit protocols can be used with the digital interface. A corresponding cable defines the use of the protocol.
Configurable through and through
Lenses, protective glass, and mirror substrates and coatings are available for many standard laser types, wavelengths, power densities, focal lengths and processing areas. This allows to handle a wide range of tasks with best quality and optimized throughput. We would also be happy to help you put together the perfect configuration for your application.
Typical Applications
Natural applications include, in particular, hatching of surfaces in additive manufacturing with high dynamic performances, ablation and cleaning of surfaces at high speed and challenging marking tasks. Speed and dynamic responses are guaranteed, thanks to digital control and powerful PWM output stages. You also have the option of combining the MINISCAN III with our CAMERA ADAPTER and MACHINE VISION CONTROL components for process monitoring.
SUPERSCAN IV
Your Benefits
The SUPERSCAN IV‘s model-based, digital regulation offers extremely dynamic responses and final speeds, which really come into play when used in MOTF-applications (Marking-and-processing-On-The-Fly) in conjunction with one of our linear translator modules. The robust, water-cooled master block design, combined with optional air flushing, enables applications at up to 6 kW laser power.
Configurable through and through
Lenses, protective glass, and mirror substrates and coatings are available for all standard laser types, wavelengths, light densities, focal lengths and processing areas. The control electronics were designed to be flexible to enable the configuration of additional sets of control parameters (tuning options). We would be happy to provide a customized configuration of the SUPERSCAN IV for your application.
Typical Applications
SUPERSCAN IV is ideally suited for these high speed applications:
Scribing
Perforation and cutting of plastic sheets and paper webs in the packaging industry
Marking of electronic components
AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-50
The AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-50 is a highly integrated pre-focusing beam deflection unit. It was developed to provide the smallest spot diameters for laser welding and cutting applications. With its large aperture, it enables the required spot diameters to be achieved even in large processing fields. This allows the laser processes to be implemented with only one deflection unit, even for large components, and without extensive movement of the workpiece or the deflection unit.
During the development of the AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-50, great focus was placed on its potential fields of application in the future. With its dust-proof housing, integrated fiber adapter and collimator, and a wide range of options for coaxial inline process control, it is optimally designed for reliable use in industrial production.
These features make the AXIALSCAN FIBER RD-50 ideal for cutting out electrical connection points (TABs) in the battery foil. Another application is the welding of bipolar plates for fuel cells with very thin stainless steel sheets of less than 100 μm thickness and extensive capillary structure. Here, the AS F-RD-50 works with high positional accuracy and produces fine welds with stable penetration depth without damaging the bipolar plate.
AM MODULE III
The AM-MODULE III is an integrated pre-focusing beam deflection unit specifically for use in additive manufacturing. Thanks to its dust-tight housing and integrated collimating optics, the AM-MODULE III is the ideal deflection unit for use in industrial production.
In additive manufacturing, efficiency of the production line and AM equipment is the key to success. The goal is to keep the costs per part as low as possible and thus remain competitive with existing manufacturing methods. To achieve this, all aspects of the AM machine are trimmed for high exposure speeds and high reliability at the same time. After all, when a machine is down, it doesn’t earn money.
This is precisely what we kept in mind when designing the AM-MODULE III. A dust-proof housing and manufacturing in an ISO Class 7 clean room allows the use of more powerful lasers. In addition, the spot can be adjusted dynamically in diameter using the integrated zoom function without losing image quality. As a result, fine structures are exposed with high resolution and large areas can be filled with an enlarged spot diameter at constant power density and scanning speed. This makes additive manufacturing a real competitor to existing manufacturing methods and it can be used for a wide range of applications.
Combined with the integrated design and the resulting high reliability in the industrial production environment, this increase in performance enables AM users to take the next step: The step from rapid prototyping to additive production!
