About us
Since 40 years, Docter Optics has been a leader in the development and serial production of optical components and systems, ensuring more safety in life.
The company has launched several patented processes for the industrial large scale production of multifunctional free-form components and recently also precision optics made of glass. With the help of a unique and also patented multi-layer process, Docter Optics can furthermore offer complex polymer optics. The manufactured optical and optoelectronic systems addresses besides the AUTOMOTIVE market additional fields of applications such as DIAGNOSTICS and ANALYTICS (e.g. fluorescence microscopes), SECURITY (e.g. fingerprint scanners) and INDUSTRIAL SENSORS (e.g. optics for machine vision).
From optical semi-finished products to precision components, large-volume glass products from the glass furnace, highly complex polymer optics and individual hybrid systems, Docter Optics understand the physics of the materials and offering extensive experience in optics.

Customised semi-finished glass products for your (optical) application
Docter Optics manufactures and supplies customised optical semi-finished products, prototypes, samples and small series with complex surfaces in high precision for every application for the optical industry within the shortest possible time. For this purpose, we keep a stock of over 400 different types of glass in various qualities ready for you. The glass is sourced from world-renowned manufacturers such as j-plasma, Corning, Färber Schott, Nikon, Heraeus, Ohara, Hoya, Tosoh and Sumita. IN-HOUSE GLASS PRODUCTION
Using its own glass melting process, Docter Optics produces DOCTAN® glass specially developed for the demanding automotive environment. DOCTAN® is an exceptionally brilliant optical glass that offers outstanding performance in terms of thermal behaviour, strength and UV stability.
