About us
UltraFast Innovations GmbH (UFI®) develops, manufactures and merchandises custom-made optics and optical devices for ultra-short pulse laser applications. Founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ), our company is located in Garching, close to Munich.
Our optical components cover the spectrum from the UV-VIS-IR range all the way down to the XUV/soft X-ray-range including mirrors, beam splitters, filters, or anti-reflection coatings. We specialize in offering customized coatings exactly for your experimental needs.
Our portfolio includes as well devices and entire setups for your laboratory. Our experience in optics and ultrafast technology allows us to provide you with the latest systems for generation, characterization and manipulation of ultrafast light, as well as characterization and quality control of optical components.

Products & Services
UFI offers a range of optics, high-tech laboratory devices, and setups that deliver top-of-the-line solutions in ultrafast technology. Our extensive portfolio is the result of years of hands-on experience in the industry, coupled with a keen eye on the latest advancements.
Cascaded spectral broadening and post-compression
Cascaded hollow-core fiber compression system with a compression factor of 35-40
Overall transmission higher than 70%
Footprint of 50 x 300 cm2
Compatible with commercial and home-built lasers
Tailored to each user
Ultrabroadband quarter-waveplate with no added GDD
Our ultrabroadband reflective vis-nIR phase retarder is the perfect quarter waveplate to convert linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light with minimal dispersion.
Covering a broad spectral range from 650 to 1400 nm it supports more than an optical octave of bandwidth with a dispersion of less than 3 fs2 and up to 90% reflectivity, making it ideal for laser systems using ultrashort pulses, especially Ytterbium-based platforms. More wavelengths are available upon request.
Its rotation is remote controllable and can be used with beam diameters up to 6 mm, preserving the beam direction.
UV dispersive mirrors with high reflectance for post-compression of 3rd and 4th harmonics
The new updated coatings designs for the VUV offers greater reflectivity, along with an exceptionally flat group delay dispersion. These features make them an outstanding solution for efficient temporal compression in UV applications.
Ideal for post-compression of 3rd and 4th harmonics.
Energy efficient chirp removal.
No B-integral accumulated.
