About us
About us
QUBIG GmbH is a technology company in the field of scientific lasers with the focus on development and manufacturing of laser modulators and matching driver electronics for high precision laser beam conditioning. The devices are mainly used as subcomponents in larger laser systems, with the aim of quickly and precisely controlling the properties of laser light, such as its frequency, phase, polarisation and position. The application spectrum ranges from fundamental research (Quantum Science, Nuclear fusion technology, chemistry, biology) to industry (laser material processing, medicine, LifeScience microscopy). The company combines profound expertise in the areas of laser technology, crystal optics and HF- & HV electronics while having in-depth knowledge and many years of experience in various fields of quantum research/technology.

Highlights:
SMD-Technology based electro- and acousto-optic Modulators for Laser beam conditioning used in various Laser Conditioning Modules (e.g. frequency stabilisation (PDH, FM/MTS), spectroscopy, fiber lengths stabilisation, intensity control, etc.)
Broadband phase modulators with ultra-low IL, high damage threshold for UV&VIS applications allowing large (>20GHz), continuous and precise laser frequency tuning control.
QUBIG's goal: Pushing quantum technologies outside the lab by replacing large, complex, sensitive opto-mechanic free-space setups with compact, robust, standalone Laser-Conditioning Modules (LCM).
Broadband phase modulators (TWP)
Laser Frequency control in the UV (313nm) to NIR (1100nm) optical range is a key element in the implementation of high-precision Quantum technologies. QUBIG’s traveling wave broadband phase modulators (TWP-series) and their matching drivers (QDB) can be equipped with nifty features to provide a robust and versatile frequency offset lock over a span of up to 20 GHz between a laser and a stable frequency reference, such as an optical cavity, another laser (master), or an atomic transition.
Single-Photon Demultiplexing Systems (DMX)
Single-photon demultiplexing refers to the process of separating and extracting individual photon signals from a composite stream of photons. This technique is crucial in quantum communication and quantum information processing systems, where the ability to manipulate and detect individual photons is essential.
It enables the extraction of quantum states carried by photons and facilitates various protocols such as quantum key distribution (QKD) or quantum teleportation. QUBIG offers low optical loss spatial demultiplexing systems with single-photon repetitions up to 160MHz and up to 16 channels.

Spectroscopy Modules (LCM-SM)
The LCM-SM module is a compact fiber-coupled standalone device for laser frequency stabilization to an atomic reference transition. The error signal used to stabilize an external laser is derived from an integrated FM spectroscopy.
In addition to the miniaturised opto-mechanical setup for the Doppler-free saturation spectroscopy the module contains numerous other features like an SMD phase modulator with driver electronics, photo detection and heterodyne frequency mixing, an active T-stabilisation as well as a digital PID controller.
Phase Modulation Module (LCM-PMM)
With the PMM series QUBIG puts an end to the tiresome search for expensive and space-consuming driver and control electronics for phase modulators. For special predefined models, QUBIG offers phase modulators with integrated drivers tailored to the requirements especially for quantum technology applications.
The module is controlled via only three connection: +12VDC (supply voltage), USB (data exchange), trigger (ns-switching). An integrated temperature stabilization provides the necessary stability even in changing environments. An optimized low dissipated power allows the module to be easily integrated into opto-mechanical setups.
