About us
Instrument Systems GmbH, founded in Munich in 1986, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of light measurement technology that is indispensable for producers of consumer electronics, (AR/VR) displays, µLED wafer, VCSEL/laser systems, automotive lighting and LED/SSL modules. All solutions benefit from our high-precision CAS series of spectroradiometers, widely recognized and in use worldwide. In combination with 2D imaging cameras, integrating spheres and goniometer systems, highly precise and accurate measurements from UV to IR can be performed with traceable results to PTB or NIST. The “Optronik Line” products for the automotive industry and traffic technology are developed and marketed at our Berlin facility. Our branch in Korea adds the “Kimsoptec Line” products to our portfolio and addresses mainly the Korean Light & Display market. Instrument Systems has been a subsidiary of the Konica MinoIta Group since 2012.

IR Measurement Portfolio
With the rise of IR emitters such as lasers, LED and VCSELs, new measurement challenges have evolved, i.e. regarding eye-safety, pulsed VCSEL and device temperature control. Instrument Systems offers modular IR test systems, adjustable to individual measurement requirements.
A complete system typically consists of a high-precision spectroradiometer (CAS series) and measurement accessories such as an integrating sphere (ISP series), an irradiance probe (EOP series), an luminous intensity adapter, a radiance probe (TOP series) and a goniometer (LGS series). Optional additions include a photodiode, power source, temperature control, and audit source. Our SpecWin Pro software runs the measurement process, with the calibration being traceable to national standards such as PTB or NIST.
This highly flexible system solution is ideally suitable for the comprehensive measurement of IR emitters during the development process or in quality control.
VTC series: Characterization of VCSEL arrays
CAS 140 IR series – High-performance for wavelengths in the infrared spectral range
By using a trigger box, the infrared models can be combined and upgraded to a MultiCAS system, which allows simultaneous complex spectral measurements over an extremely wide wavelength range or multiple samples.
IR Measurement System – Fast and precise measurement of IR emitters up to 2150 nm
A typical system solution consists of calibrated radiometric measuring equipment, optional power sources and temperature control for the DUT and required software modules.
