Micro-Epsilon presents high-end confocal chromatic confocalDT sensors for most precise distance and thickness measurements. The confocal system is almost surface-independent, and therefore also measures mirrored and glass surfaces. The controller achieves measurement rates up to 70kHz while providing a very good signal-to-noise ratio. As well as standard sensors for high precision measurement tasks, miniature sensors with axial and radial measurement directions are also available.


2D/3D laser profile scanners from Micro-Epsilon are among the highest performing profile sensors in the world in terms of accuracy and measuring rate. They detect, measure and evaluate profiles on different object surfaces with red laser or blue laser technology. scanCONTROL profile scanners do not require any external controller as they solve versatile measurement tasks autonomously thanks to integrated intelligence. Models for the customer’s own programming are available for integrators.


Laser sensors from Micro-Epsilon have set milestones in many fields. Whether for displacement, distance or thickness measurements, these laser sensors are considered one of the best in their class. They are used e.g. in measurement tasks in factory automation, electronics production and smartphone manufacturing. In addition to conventional red laser models, Blue Laser sensors with direct-reflection mode are available, which are suitable for high-gloss, shiny and reflecting surfaces.

optoNCDT 2300-2DR Blue laser sensor combines speed and precision
The optoNCDT 2300-2DR blue laser sensor is specially designed for displacement and distance measurements on directly reflecting surfaces. On reflective and shiny surfaces, the sensor operates at high speed and provides maximum precision in the nanometer range. Its ultra-compact design makes it one of a kind.

The optoNCDT 2300-2DR laser sensor is especially suitable for reflective and shiny targets. The sensor is for example used in thickness measurements of flat glass, distance measurements on annealed glass and assembly monitoring of extremely small parts.

The measuring rate can be set up to 49kHz which is why the sensor is ideal for process monitoring tasks. While operating with the Advanced Real-Time-Surface-Compensation (A-RTSC), the sensor enables precise real-time surface compensation for different surface types. Data output is via Ethernet, RS422 or EtherCAT.
Confocal-chromatic sensors: ultra-compact sensor and high precision
The confocalDT system from Micro-Epsilon stands for high precision confocal chromatic measurement technology. The new IFS2404-2 sensor is used for high precision distance and thickness measurements of transparent materials. With a diameter of just 12 mm, the sensor can also be integrated into restricted installation space. The innovative lens enables high measurement accuracy and a small light spot diameter.

confocalDT 242x controllers from Micro-Epsilon set new standards in confocal measurement technology. The system operates on a non-contact and therefore wear-free basis while the active exposure regulation feature in the CCD line accurately and rapidly compensates for changing surfaces.

Due to a special lens technology, the IFS2404-2 sensor provides high resolutions at a small light spot size. Together with the confocalDT 2421/2422 controller, the new sensor offers an excellent price/performance ratio for OEM purposes.
Nano-resolution capacitive displacement sensors
With the capaNCDT 6230, Micro-Epsilon offers a capacitive measuring system that can be extended up to four measurement channels for nano-resolution displacement measurement. The DL 6230 demodulator provides up to 8 times higher resolution for reaching even higher performance levels.

The special sensor design, triaxial sensor cable and innovative controller technology result in a perfectly matched measuring system. Therefore, capaNCDT measuring systems stand for unmatched precision and signal stability for industrial and semiconductor applications.

The capaNCDT 6230 capacitive measuring system can be used to measure thickness, tilt angle and vibrations, from sub-micrometer to nanometer precision levels, such as those required by the semiconductor industry. One specific area where capacitive measurement systems are used is high resolution focusing of complex lens systems such as those found in microscopes, vision inspection machines and photolithography tools.
